“Due cose contribuirono alla mia intera soddisfazione in Feltre; la buona compagnia, che ho sempre amato e desiderato ed un Teatro, nel Palazzo medesimo del Podestà, di cui mi servo per poter esporre…e questa è la prima volta che io esposi qualche cosa del mio teatro. E fu proprio là che principiai a gustare il piacere dell’applauso e del pubblico aggradimento”.

Carlo Goldoni wrote this worlds in his memories, telling about the “Teatro della Sena” in “Piazza maggiore”, a small and iconic reproduction of “La Fenice” of Venice. Both of them planned by architecht Giannantonio Selva.

The atmosphere of the old village of Feltre is, even today, of other times. Narrow cobbled streets, dry stone walls that run along the sides of steep lanes, ancient buildings that stand out along the main promenade and then guide tourists along the secondary streets to get lost and find themselves, the beautiful Teatro de la Sena, are what we love about our city.
